Log
Work
Bridges
/ Fences / Arbors
/ Railing / Benches
There
are many areas of mountain landscape that can benefit
from hand-crafted log features. For materials that age
nicely and withstand the elements, our choice of log is
indigenous locust. We then compliment the integrity of
the locust with the older growth branches of mountain
laurel, which provides a decorative rustic finish.
Bridges
Many
homeowners in this area are fortunate to have water on
their property. To better utilize the land on either side
of creeks, springs, or ponds, bridges can add a nice accent
while providing access to otherwise inaccessible areas.
We offer a variety of designs and will be able to build
a bridge that best suits the surrounding landscape.

Fences
When
used in your landscape, fences can provide numerous uses,
such as defining property lines, bordering driveways,
or serving as a backdrop to planting areas. In spaces
where a taller fence is needed, we suggest a post and
rail style. Lower spaces are best served by using a split
locust rail fence, stacked and attached section by section.

Arbors
Arbors
are an inviting and effective feature to enhance a garden
entry or to designate a starting point for a walking path.
Arbors help frame key spots in the landscape and provide
a focal point for the eyes.

Hand
and Deck Railing
While
traversing a mountain path or stepping along stones, strategically
placed hand rails will make your hike more enjoyable while
providing a sense of stability. We are often commissioned
to finish porches and decks with the increasingly popular
log and branch style of posts and railings. We also remodel
existing structures by replacing conventional lumber with
locust and mountain laurel.

Benches
and Settees
Time
can easily get away from you when strolling through beautiful
surroundings. A log crafted bench can be just the thing
to take a break or enjoy a snack. A garden "settee"
can also be a welcome addition to relax and take in the
sights of your mountain landscape. A log bench can even
be installed in a bridge to watch and listen to nearby
flowing water.
Additional
log work
Other options in log work include gates, pergolas, and
trellises. We strive to fulfill the needs of each customer's
individual preferences.
